Walking with Four Generations

How many people can say they went on a walk with four generations of their family? We regularly find our grandmas and take them for a little stroll on the family farm. My boys love their grandmas.

Nathan and Grandma Robot. He is trying to escape and climb up with Joseph onto the oil can.

Joseph climbing to the top of the oil can. Its really a tank, but he calls it a can.
Joseph and Grandma Robot. He insisted that we bring his "guys" on the walk.

At the start of our walk Joseph selected Grandma Farm as the one to carry him. He stayed with her to the duck pond and then had to get down and throw rocks into the water.

Nathan's First Birthday

Nathan turned 1 on February 26. He is a delightful fellow and we love having him in our family.

Birthday cereal and cars, a perfect combination. He has the habit of chewing on his blanket when he first gets up and when he is tired.
A book about visiting a farm. We will have to visit the cows one of these days and do more exploring on our farm. Until then, we can pretend and read this book.

 Nathan's first haircut.

I'm not sure about the cake.
Definitely enjoyed the cake. That's a huge piece for a little guy!

Cake and sausage. Yum yum.

Looking for Turkey Feathers

Our outdoor adventures continue. The weather was sunny and warm. We went down this farm road with the goal of finding turkey feathers. It's a little early to find the feathers, but we figured it was worth a shot.

Joseph searching intently for a feather.
Joseph was excited and had to point out what he had found. He proudly proclaimed, "I found dirt!" A few minutes later I asked whether he saw any dirt to which he replied, "No dirt here." I wonder what dirt is to him.

Spring Weather is Coming

Finally on Valentine's Day the weather took a turn for the better and we were able to take a little stroll with the boys. Grandma Gene gave us this fabulous wagon and we got to try it out. The boys loved it. I think Joseph was especially thrilled that he had somewhere to sit when his legs got tired. Nathan is quickly becoming an outdoor addict.

Nathan is also learning how to walk. Currently he can take about 4 steps without falling.

How can this be? My little boy is 3!

Joseph turned 3. We're glad he is in our family and are excited to see what this coming year brings for us.
We've practice blowing out candles and were delighted to have him succeed on his cake without burning his nose.
Noice the Easter Eggs on the tablecloth. Joseph picked this one out of a solid, red, blue, or yellow table cloth.
He was thrilled that this was an ice cream cake.
He also had a Disney themed cake. This is in preparation for us to visit Disneyland this summer. Our family is definitely in for an exciting year.

Happy New Year!

We carried on the tradition of going to Grandma Great's for New Year's Eve. We played lots of games and had a lovely time. Aunt DD made cinammon rolls that are in a word "divine."
Nathan actually went to sleep way before midnight, but had a hard time sleeping in the unusual surroundings. This picture was taken just after I got him to take him home. He will definitely be more into the New Year's fare next year.
Shane likes to show off his talents. It wasn't until this year that we learned that he had this one. I'm not sure what to make of it.
Joseph stayed up and had a great time with all the kids. He was really excited that he could get his "blower" to work. He went through several of them due to the slobber that accompanies blowing.
After a night of play, we had to clean up. Joseph is loves to clean up with he has a nifty gadget to help him clean up. This cow vac is the ideal size for him.

Ward Christmas Party

Nathan did not want to see Santa or get his candy bag. He may be a little braver next year.
I think Joseph was completely amazed that Santa came to our party. I tend to believe that he thought all this talk of Santa was just a fun story we shared with him and that Santa's not a real guy. He is the definite proof that Santa came to our ward party. Joseph's expression says that he's not too sure about this bearded guy.
